On September 6, 2024, the doors of the Magvassy Mihály Sportcsarnok will once again open for an NBI men's handball match. This will be a day in the history of men's handball in Győr that has not been seen for a long time, and many have been looking forward to it, considering the past.
On Friday, the ETO University Handball Team will host the CYEB-Budakalász team, led by István Csoknyai, in the first round of the championship. According to the club's announcement, five players have permanently left last year's roster: Bence Kiss, Levente Halász, Stefan Ranisavljevic, Barnabás Berényi, and Szabolcs Tóth, while Dominik Vrhovina has been loaned to Mezőkövesd. Three new arrivals have also been announced for the summer: Ádám Juhász from Tatabánya, Jan Polcar from KH ISMM Koprivnice, and Tamás Tájok from the youth team, who has been promoted to the first team.
The team led by Bálint Kilvinger has already faced their Pest County opponent in a friendly match early in the preparation phase. However, that match is not a reliable reference point, as both teams have undergone continuous development over the summer.
The match will be officiated by the refereeing duo of Balázs Marton and Péter Horvát.
