Silver medal at the Balatonfüred tournament

The ETO University Handball Team finished in second place at the II. Hotel Vinifera Wine & Spa international handball tournament in Balatonfüred. The team faced the host Balatonfüred in the final, where they suffered a close defeat, losing 29-26.

Following their victory on Thursday, the ETO University Handball Team faced the decisive match on Friday. The game started with two quick goals from the hosts, to which Vilovski responded (2-1). The goals were exchanged evenly throughout the first half, but our team never managed to take the lead. The half ultimately ended with a 15-14 advantage for Füred.

In the second half, the combative and dynamic gameplay continued. Our team made several attempts to catch up with the opponent but was unable to take the lead. Ultimately, a three-goal victory for the hosts, 29-26, was decided in the match. As a result, our team secured second place in the two-day tournament.

After the match, Bálint Kilvinger evaluated „We have just gone through a meaningful tournament. Today's match was a great opportunity for practice, and we gained a lot of valuable experience. Our game was uneven today, and the opponent took advantage of that. The team showed a fighting spirit, and we put everything into finishing the match successfully, but we made many mistakes. Matches like these are essential for our further development and strengthening our cohesion." – concluded the head coach.

In the bronze match, the Czech team Dukla Prague faced the Icelandic team KA Akureyri, where the Prague side ultimately proved to be stronger, securing third place.
